My Favorite Teacher Died

Every morning during my senior year of high school for about an hour I had her mostly to myself. The class was independent investigation, had 4 students, and we each worked with her guidance on a social problem. Needless to say my expectations were small and the work ended up leading me to a four year college scholarship. She was by all accounts one of the most beautiful human beings I have had the pleasure to experience. She made me feel special while holding me accountable, traits uncommon in humans, that ability to be pleasant yet drain every ounce out of a person. Bravo Katie Ruth Walker, love you!

Years of Inactivity

I turned 52 Friday January 13th 2017. What is interesting about that is that most of my life I have loved to sweat, exercise, run, swim, and bike. Well for the last 3 years I have been on couch, chair, Uber, Metro, car, and chill mode. I want to get back, but what I know is that its not as simple now to just go do it. I have to account for the changes in my body, my lifestyle, eating habits, and father time. So keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I embark on this journey toward increased fitness for year 52.
