Welcome to Hillcrest located in Southeast Washington in Ward 7 of Washington, D.C. My name is Winslow and I live in the community and can offer hope and insight on the progress that is needed to sustain what as long stood and “one of the best kept secrets in Washington”. I will attempt to highlight what this community needs in terms of improvements such as my first uploads three local businesses both in and adjoining Hillcrest. The awnings on these businesses speak to what can only be described as contempt for the community. How is it possible that the owners, staff, management, and customers of these businesses not see these awnings as wretched and deplorable in terms of presentation.
The awnings are a reminder of why this blog is needed to highlight and educate. The Hillcrest Civic Association (HCA) has a website dedicated to promoting Hillcrest and that is wonderful and it serves as a front yard to this community while the backyard is a mess. Stay tuned.
